India's rape and brutality culture spiritually sanctioned

Or so it seems. A Guru (teacher and guide in spiritual and philosophical matters): "'Guilt is not one-sided,' adding that if the student had pleaded with her six attackers in God's name, and told them she was of the "weaker sex", they would have relented." [Guru's view on Indian rape raises anger, but shared by many].

Apparently the guru believes that women are weak and that this particular woman is the blame for the attack on her and companion because she didn't admit to the attackers her weakness. What does "weak" mean? Inferior to men or just inferior?

What kind of people think this way? What if the rape was of a young girl or young boy? What does this spiritual leaders think about pedophilia? More to the point where are the leaders of India? One is hard-pressed to find comments by those in leadership positions that don't shift the blame to women .

India a democracy? Not when the brutal attack on two people can be dismissed because the woman didn't plead that she was one of weaker sex.
