The donation of a van to the paralyzed Portland Police Officer Paul Meyer doesn't quite restore faith in humanity as the Oregonian would have it - but it clearly demonstrates that there are those still possessed of humanity. It was a self less act for the retired military couple to spend $40,000 of their money so that another person and his family would benefit. It is a great story. I am thankful for this rare occurrence of great compassion.
